Updated my bucket list with "23 Firsts at Age 23"! :D 03.28.13 I've been making plans for life after graduation. I'm learning how to let go of anxiety over things I cannot control. I'm learning that forgiveness will always be greater than resentment. I'm learning how to appreciate the little things. I'm learning how to forgive myself. Graduation is a milestone; don't look down on what you've accomplished all these years spent with friends, classmates, professors and colleagues on that campus by the sea. :) 02.03.13 BRAND NEW YEAR! WELCOME 2013! I am currently doing a 28 day blogging challenge by the UBC Literature Etc. Club. Check out my daily entries on Tumblr! 11.09.12 This site was overdue for a spontaneous update! Added some blog entries in The Writer and The Bucket List. Plus, reorganized my multimedia page. Let's see when the next update will be... :P 08.01.12 These last few months have been busier than I anticipated! Trips to China, club meetings, my distance-education course, and the ever epic adventures at my summer camp -- I've forgotten the importance of reflection. In light of my hectic schedule slowly coming to an end, I wanted to take some time for one of my new year resolutions, which was to spend some time on being more grateful for having all the love and support I get from the people around me. 03.08.12 New poem! Lately I feel like I haven't been giving myself a lot of creative time. But then again, I give myself plenty of time to procrastinate, so I don't know what I'm complaining about. Get yourself together, girl! Anyway, I hope you enjoy my sporadic updating. Hopefully, I'll get some consistency going... eventually... 01.28.12 Felt like writing something today. That's all. 01.13.12 Can you believe it's already been almost two weeks since the New Year's started? It's amazing how fleeting time seems. I became so consumed with all the activities of the New Year - classes, deadlines, applications, volunteer, dinners - that I almost forgot my promise to myself that I'd take some time, at least once a week, to take a step back and reflect upon the going-ons of my life. This website and blogging nest was supposed to help me with that balance. I don't want to make this a chore, because I really do enjoy all my writings, ponderings, and creative moments I put on this website. However, I might make my schedule a bit easier on me, and update once a week with small bits of things I like: a poem I wrote on the bus, or a photo I took of the sunrise, or a catchy song I just heard on the radio. After all, it is the small moments that make up one life. :) 01.01.12 HAPPY NEW YEAR! With the beginning of a new year, there is a sense of being refreshed and rejuvenated. We are cleansed, if only temporarily, of our past lives and begin anew. We dream again, and hope again. 2012 will be the year for reflection as well as revelations. One of my New Year resolutions is to maintain this website by updating at least twice a month with new posts, quotes, and photos. I've got the photo gallery started with pictures from Oslo, Norway! This is going to be a year full of ups and downs - I know now from experience. But this will also be a year of adventure and ambition. We are only young once, so let us do more and be more than we believe we are capable of while we still think we can. Have a great year everyone! 23.11.11 Some photos uploaded, mostly pictures taken in Norway. All blogs should be up and running, although content is sparse at this point. My new foodie blog has my family's Chinese dumpling recipe, which is a must try! This is the kind of food I grew up with. :) Most importantly would be my bucket list, which is fully functioning and open to comments and suggestions! Cheers! 20.11.11 This online portfolio is something of an experiment. There is some joy in the finding of an outlet to compile your ideas, achievements, and memories. Unless the internet should die one day, I hope this small bit of virtual space can house the evidence for the existence of a rather quiet but thoughtful individual, who wanted nothing more than to acknowledge the importance of living every second of her life to the best of her abilities. |
Quote of the Week"What was wrong with their education? In Wiesel’s words: 'It emphasized theories instead of values, concepts rather than human beings, abstraction rather than consciousness, answers instead of questions, ideology and efficiency rather than conscience.'"
